About StatVault
StatVault is a sports data encyclopedia built around one idea: a number you cannot trace is a number you should not trust. 65,000+ player careers across NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS. 7,410 profiles carry a source-fillable stat gap; 2 of 5 sport scopes meet their own source-completeness contract.
Every profile, leaderboard, and ranking on the site derives from the same canonical corpus, states the date its data describes, and marks partial coverage instead of hiding it. When a surface cannot answer honestly, it says so — a withheld verdict beats a fabricated one.
The corpus, by sport
| League | Player profiles | Era span |
|---|---|---|
| NFL | 25,196+ | 1915–2026 |
| NBA | 5,529+ | 1947–2026 |
| MLB | 23,561+ | 1876–2026 |
| NHL | 8,268+ | 1918–2026 |
| MLS | 3,000+ | 2013–2026 |
Counts are floors from the committed corpus (65,554 profiles total, integrity-checked 2026-08-25). MLS has 17 seasons outside its committed source window
What StatVault is not
Not a betting service, not a generic stats portal, and not an AI wrapper that answers from a model's memory. Knox — the AI layer — answers from the corpus and shows its receipts; when the corpus cannot support an answer, it refuses.
