KnoxIQ
What is Knox?
The encyclopedia is the record: every career, sourced. Knox is the rating layer on top of it — two numbers that make players from different positions, teams and eras readable in one language. It never replaces the underlying stat tables, and every Knox number can be traced back to them.
KC
Knox Current
Knox Current (KC) captures who a player is right now — present-tense quality, adjusted for form, availability, and confidence.
- Production — The statistical base layer. KC starts with what a player is actually producing relative to position and league context.
- Trend — Momentum matters. Recent movement, role changes, and short-horizon form keep KC present-tense instead of season-stale.
- Availability — The best player unavailable is not the same as the best player ready right now. Health and active role shape current utility.
- Confidence — Every number carries certainty. Small samples, thin data, or unstable roles reduce confidence instead of pretending precision.
KV
Knox Value
Knox Value (KV) captures what a player has built — career accumulation and peak, normalized across eras.
- Career accumulation: what a player has banked over time.
- Peak recognition: how strong their best seasons were.
- Era normalization: cross-era comparability instead of raw stat inflation.
- Separation from KC: current form and long-term value are related, but not the same question.
Where to go next
Each Knox surface answers one question. This is the whole set — if your question is not here, the number you want lives in the encyclopedia itself rather than in the rating layer.
